Come on baby! I'm kinda getting tired of this raspberry leaf tea!

39 weeks
Here I am with just one more week to go. Can you tell that I'm tired? My belly is sooo big. But amazingly I haven't swelled up much anywhere else! I keep waiting for my shoes to stop fitting and my face to get a little rounder. I just lucked out this time. Yessss.
After a few weeks of very low energy I've got a second wind and I'm nesting like crazy! After 3 pregnancies now I'm sure that my house is always cleanest when I'm 9 months pregnant. Which is amazing considering what a physical handicap it is to be full term prego. Beside cleaning, I'm also doing some decorating and some necessary organizing. Feels good.
I dreamt that I'm having a boy. Seems like the strongest sign so far, but I'm still not sure. My first girl instinct way back in the beginning has stuck around...This is going to be the most anticipated surprise of my life!
Wish me luck!

37 weeks and a birthday
Yesterday was my birthday. I ran errands, took a nap, and played in the backyard. A perfect low-key day. When Matthew came home he took some pictures of us, which I'm glad for. Each year flies by faster than the last, and photographs make me feel like I'm doing something to keep the moments from totally disappearing.
I sewed up the dress I'm wearing the night before. It's so comfortable.

34 weeks
Still refusing to drag that tired old box of maternity clothes out of the basement. But my pants are getting pretty uncomfortable....
I'm wearing a shrug I made out of some dyed doilies and a new quartz necklace I made.

33 weeks
The temperature has been under 80 degrees for 48 hours straight for the first time in 3 months. I have returned to a physical and psychological homeostasis and am now ready to resume my weekly prego photos. Thank you Stephanie for taking me to the park and insisting on taking my picture yesterday. But I wish you had a mirror around your neck so I could've known to stop doing that weird smile.

getting fancy
My dear little brother tied the knot this weekend. Here we are after the very sweet ceremony, playing on the hotel lawn while we wait for the reception to begin.
I made my dress out of soft cotton/spandex jersey. It's grecian-inspired, full-length skirt with an empire waist and gathered shoulders. My design was so simple, that I was almost surprised by how elegant it turned out. I'm also wearing homemade earrings, and my Leotie Necklace. I made Mara's dress with some vintage knit and antique lace. And Makai wore vintage seersucker suspender shorts I found at the thrift store last week.

29 weeks
You may have noticed that it's been a couple weeks since my last prego photo. I hate to break a tradition, but honestly, you don't want to see me like this. It has been the hottest summer of my life. Ya'll in the southwest may scoff at 89 degrees, but you don't know humidity like us midwesterners do. For 5 weeks straight, I've been a hot mess. No AC, no relief, with twice as much blood running through my body as usual, 10 extra pounds on my front, and 25 pounds (Makai) on my hip. My uniform has been cutoff jean shorts and my home-made bikini top, or a sweaty t shirt with stains on the belly (where everything lands now) with my hair in a droopy ponytail with obscene frizzes haloing my tomato-red face.
But because I went to the garden with my camera to capture my tiny glowing grape tomato, I mustered this belly picture for us.

23 weeks
This post is a bit late, since I'm 24 weeks tomorrow. Oops.
I'm wearing a tee from Target, and shorts and a necklace I made. You can't tell from the picture, but the shorts are kinda floral lacey. They're perfect to wear with all those non-maternity dresses that are too short now that my belly pulls up the hem.

Here I am making a weird face with my orange elephant shirt on. I made it a few months ago, before I had maternity clothes on the brain, but it works well. The long curved shirt hem accentuates and covers my silly little belly.
Big shout out to Rachel who gave me this amazing fabric. Too bad there was only enough for this one top.

week 17
That's it. I am now officially "showing". Though in some clothes I still look like I just had a real big lunch, or have developed a weird beer-belly.
It's getting hot out, and I know that belly-friendly dresses will be my every day wear for the rest of summer. I pulled out this dress I made for myself when I was pregnant with Makai. It is soft jersey, has an elastic empire waist, and detailing on the neck and hem of appliqued t-shirt hems that I had cut off of previous projects. I'm also wearing a necklace and bracelet I made for myself recently. Comfy to the 10th degree.
