New Pictures!

I had a photoshoot Friday with my first few autumn items. It was fun and turned out very well. Thank you to the lovely Stephanie and Elizabeth for modeling! See most of the photos here.

autumn romper

I made a few baby boy's rompers this summer really similar to this. But when I saw this vintage white velvet one at Value Village a few days ago, it inspired me anew. It was the fabric and the neckline that made me think "I've got to make this for women this fall!". Pair it with a tee with loose cuffed sleeves, and bright colored tights!

So I made the pattern yesterday. The first one will be in dusty blue corduroy while I keep hunting for the perfect vintage velvet.

fresh start for autumn

I had planned on starting autumn two weeks ago. But things got crazy for Matthew at work, and when that happens, I sacrifice my work time. Just as well, I'm still waiting for my new foot control to come in (my current one is possessed and makes the machine sew like mad when I'm not pressing). So I spent the weekend cleaning, organizing, packing away summer fabrics, and taking out autumn fabrics. I started building a little story with the colors and textures, and I designed and cut patterns for the first four items.

Monday was our 2nd wedding anniversary. I baked cookies and decorated the dining room with messages on hearts. I'm such a dork. Matthew gave me a big 'ol gift certificate to Solid State Tattoo. Now I have no excuse....

RENEGADE!!!

Little Ocean will be at Renegade Craft Fair in Chicago September 12&13th. Excited! Now I just have to figure out the logistics. How does a busy breastfeeding mama of a 5 month old (who despises the bottle) spend an entire weekend working (her butt off) 2 hours away from home?
